We are looking for a talented, energetic and creative QA Software Engineer to take on end to end ownership of several significant projects. Duties and Responsibilities • Develop test plans, create test specs, implement testing strategy, perform gray-box testing, and monitor logs and key metrics. • Be customer-focused, stay on top of bug triaging, respond to customer issues, help development team with reproducing and debugging issues • Coordinate with other teams to understand cross team dependencies on features and perform integration testing. Escalating issues for resolution by cross functional teams • Be a content expert and guide the offshore QA team on new features and regression testing. • React quickly and effectively to on-demand requirement and changes, be flexible to juggle among multiple projects and requests as needed. • Design, execute and automate functional tests and prepare test data • Be able to set up Robots or help with Builds and Migrations. • Have a good understanding of QA processes and best practices. Maintain and enhance existing test tools and processes, and implement new ones as needed. • Drive to continuously improve testing and product quality. • Have a good knowledge of Java/web server based application development and debugging. Preferred Qualifications • SQL and database knowledge and experience desirable • Ability to work independently • Passion for customer success with our products Basic Minimum Qualifications • BS or MS in Computer Science or related field • 5+ years software engineering experience with programming experience in Java • Strong knowledge of and experience with software development methodologies and practices • Working knowledge in utilizing XML and J2EE in developing applications • Knowledge of automation and scripting tools like selenium • Knowledge of bug tracking tools like Siebel • Strong verbal and written communication skills Ariba, Inc. is an EEO/Affirmative Action employer and does not discriminate based on race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability, veteran status, or any other protected category
