We are looking for a bright and enthusiastic QA Manager with a good blend of technical and process leadership. This is a senior technical and leadership role in the organization and will work closely with the product team as well as the QA leaders across the company. You must have good working knowledge of spend management principles and software testing techniques applicable to SAAS architectures. You are expected to consistently look at existing test approaches to identify coverage areas needing improvement and to ensure delivery of a high quality product. Duties and Responsibilities • Develop, recommend, and execute initiatives that support Ariba’s larger organizational goals and objectives. • Hire, retain, and inspire the world’s best engineers • Provide leadership in implementing processes that result in improved quality throughout the entire application development lifecycle. • Provide leadership in implementing services within the QA organization that include black-box testing, white-box testing, load and performance testing, and other services that can contribute substantially to the overall quality of the applications that Ariba delivers to its customers. • Works closely with peers in a world-class product development organization to continually improve the quality & usability of components through an agile development process • Works with customers and Ariba professional services as appropriate to resolve production issues and to ensure successful customer implementations Preferred Qualifications • Ability to manage teams of variable size and ability to handle multiple projects • High level of initiative and the ability to perform hands on testing and providing guidance and leadership for the QA team. Extensive experience in software development, particularly multi-site and Agile development. • Strong experience with quality improvement. • A proven track record of delivering world-class, large-scale, performance critical multi-million dollar software product projects on time, on budget and with quality to external clients. • Strong knowledge in Java and J2EE, XML, HTML-based web technologies and relational database products • Sourcing experience a plus Basic Minimum Qualifications • Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related field • 8+ years of experience as a Test engineer for enterprise/e-commerce applications • 3+ years experience as a QA Manager Ariba, Inc. is an EEO/Affirmative Action employer and does not discriminate based on race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability, veteran status, or any other protected category
